You are invited to

Stand up and Speak out

against Poverty and Inequality!

On 17 October, millions of people from around the world will participate in a global advocacy event to set an official Guinness World Record –

the greatest number of people ever to STAND UP against Poverty and for the Millennium Development Goals.

More than 23 million people in 87 countries participated last

year in the largest single coordinated mobilization in history,

according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

STAND UP relies fully on citizen participation in that individuals everywhere organize local events around the world.

Participants “stand up” to communicate their desire to fight poverty and hold governments and leaders accountable for promises to end poverty by 2015.
