Michael Reyes
handles media relations for the United Nations Information
Centre. He is
responsible for planning, development and implementation of UNIC
communications and serves as a liaison to UN entities, media
organizations, governmental bodies and civil-society
organizations.
Michael previously served as
Public Affairs Specialist for the Congressional Research Service
(CRS), the congressionally mandated non-partisan research arm of
the U.S. Congress, where he coordinated public affairs programs
and briefings for Members of Congress and staff of the House of
Representatives, Senate and congressional committees as well as
the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Congressional
Budget Office (CBO). Prior
to CRS, Michael was the Development Director for the National
Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) where he administered
corporate relations for the association’s media policy
efforts.
Michael holds a B.A. in
Political Science from Southern Methodist University and a M.A.
with an emphasis in Social and Public Policy from
Georgetown
University
